Thankful for My Humble, Hardworking, and Handsome Husband

Thank You for Sharing:

We all look forward to summer as a time to sit back and relax, but somehow our schedule missed the memo.  We’re still carving out time to really connect with family, but between the graduations, weddings, birthdays and other summer activities, we’re booked! It is for all these joyous occasions I am thankful along with the health and happiness to enjoy them.  As I sat down to highlight one of them I realized that it is not one event that stuck out in my mind this past week, but one person…my absolutely wonderful and incredibly handsome husband.

Thankful for my husband

The hustle and bustle of preparations, baby juggling and energetic rascal chasing can often add stress and distraction, but having someone to share the joy and crazy with is a blessing I simply haven’t verbalized my gratitude enough for.  You’d think I would be more appreciative….it wasn’t long ago I was a full-time working single mom who was wrestling the aftermath of divorce all alone. Someday I’ll need to share our awesome story of how God brought us together. It was beautiful and at the time I recognized the pure gift (and miracle!) it was.  Yet somewhere along the way, though his awesomeness and contribution to my life have only increased, I have let the exhaustion, clutter and frustrations of life decrease my affirmation and thanks.

So to the beardo who married a weirdo, the teacher who could be a preacher, the sound guy who makes my heart fly, the biker dude who endures my crabby mood, and the architectural  engineer whom I revere….aka, my handsome hubby :

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

That’s right…23. You deserve so much more than this. I am sorry if my weaknesses have ever made you doubt yourself as the amazing, anointed, strong, courageous, wise, talented, kind, wonderful, necessary and cherished son of the King of Kings that you are.  I am beyond blessed to be yours, and I am incredibly thankful that you chose me to spend this side of Heaven with. MUAH!! 🙂

Sorry for the mushy part there, but it’s true, he’s pretty terrific. Now you make think I’m biased, and that’s totally understandable. So let me know who YOU are especially thankful for this week? Who has blessed your life in a special way? Maybe you want share your gratitude for something instead of someone?

  1. You are just.too.cute! I love this post! Even the mushy part. What a sweet way to honor your husband than to sing his praises in the gates of the internet.

    1. Thank you Marsha, he deserves every bit and more! This was his first week off as a high school teacher and in addition to our crazy schedule, I painted myself in a corner with the giveaway and review I recently did. I had most of it lined out, but the finishing touches ate up a bigger chunk of this week than I expected. He has been so encouraging and supportive of my new blog I thought…wow, how have I NOT already written this yet?! Thank you Marsha for this link up, it really helps me slow down and focus on what matters and see God’s blessings in a fuller way 🙂

    1. I do indeed and I totally don’t deserve it! Thank you for your kind words 🙂 I’m glad you stopped by and will be sure to check out your Thankful Thursday link soon 🙂

  2. I love the whole “beardo..weirdo” part. Clever. Can’t wait to use that line when my husband grows his out again. 🙂 It’s easy to overlook the obvious, in-our-face blessing of a good spouse. Thanks for the reminder.

    1. Haha thanks Deb! We even added it to our vows that would never ask him to shave it. 🙂 I’m so glad to be getting to know everyone through Thankful Thursdays, I’m headed over to check out yours now!

  3. Thankful for the gift of a sister in law who helps remind me I have so much to be thankful for. Even though it’s been a rough week, above it all I am richly blessed by His grace and mercies each morning!

    1. Praise God! Yes, many nights I have Darlene Zschech’s voice in my head as I hum “Trading my Sorrows”…”though the sorrow may last for the night, His joy comes in the MornING” 🙂 I’m thankful for you too, I really appreciate you stopping by and sharing your gratitude each week!
